Several users were unable to access the social network website or mobile applications.
Additionally, the Downdetector tracking website logged more than 57,000 reports as of 6 p.m. Miami time.

A Twitter spokesperson said the company is aware of the problem and is working to fix it.
"We have no evidence of a security breach or 'hack', and we are currently investigating internal causes," the spokesperson said.
