Johannesburg - SANA
The South African Ministry of Health announced that the number of Coronavirus cases in the country exceeded 700,000 today, amid fears of an imminent second wave of the epidemic.
Reuters quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that it had detected 2019 new infections, bringing the total number to 700,203 cases, while the country has so far recorded 18,370 deaths from the virus.
The ministry had recently warned of a second wave of the epidemic in the country of 58 million people, if the citizens and authorities would be complacent and stop taking precautionary measures.
