Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) responded in a letter to the criticism of the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association Dehoga and defended the city's measures.
For the time being, there is no curfew in Munich.
Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter
has contradicted the hosts' criticism of the corona measures.
The
study cited
by
Dehoga
boss
Christian Schottenhamel
is inadequate.
A curfew does not take effect in
Munich
until Saturday at the earliest.
The
municipal ban on serving
is currently still in force
.
As reported, the
association had
criticized, among other things, that the
measures to contain the pandemic were
continuously at the expense of the catering trade and
referred to the ban
on
serving
, which the city had imposed on Monday.
Dehoga district association boss Christian Schottenhamel
had stated that only a small proportion of those infected in catering establishments were infected and referred to a study by the
Robert Koch Institute (RKI)
.
Unfortunately, the situation has fundamentally changed
Mayor Dieter Reiter
Reiter,
on the other hand, argues that the study cited is not such a one.
The 3
8th Epidemiological Bulletin of the RKI
rather describes the
outbreak
from the 9th to the 29th calendar week, i.e. a period during which the exit and
contact restrictions
as well as the multiple closings of
restaurants
simply could not contribute to the spread of the virus.
"For the subsequent period of the slow opening mid-May to mid-July, the were
infection levels
regardless of infection environment at relatively low levels," writes rider.
“Unfortunately, the situation has fundamentally changed.
The increasing number of celebrations and
parties
, increased travel activity and an often more carefree approach have degraded the hopeful trend of the summer months to a brief respite. "

Yesterday the
city
reported
153 new corona cases.
A total of
13 170 infections have been confirmed
so far
.
That figure includes 11,407 people who have recovered and
233 deaths
.
The
incidence value,
which is decisive for the measures,
climbed to 57.7 yesterday.
Curfew does not apply until Saturday at the earliest
Munich had a ban on serving from 10 p.m. on Monday.
That still applies - at least until the
state government
has issued an order.
This then includes further
restrictions
, including a curfew from 22 for municipalities in which the
incidence value is
above the 50 mark.
At the time
of
going
to press, it was unclear whether the
Free State's
ordinance would be enacted on Friday and thus become legally binding on Saturday.
And also whether the regulation takes effect immediately or whether it is a recommendation for the municipalities.
If it is only a recommendation, Munich would have
to adjust the
general
municipal
decree, which would probably be possible at the beginning of next week at the earliest.
Berlin administrative court overturns curfew in the federal capital
The Berlin administrative court
had meanwhile decided in two urgent proceedings that the
curfew is illegal
for Berlin restaurants.
The
decision
initially only applies to the eleven
applicants
, as the court announced on Friday at the request of the
German Press Agency
.
In the federal capital, too, only the ban on serving alcohol applies.
