A few weeks after the knife attack on the former offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris, a man was beheaded this Thursday in Val D'Oise by an attacker who was shot by police and died.
Another terrorist attack linked to the Muhammad cartoons
.
The victim is Samuel P, a history and geography teacher at the Bois d'Aulne college.
He would have used the cartoons of Muhammad published by
Charlie Hebdo
to give a class on freedom of expression to his students, according to the first information from the newspaper
Le Monde
.
The attacker would be Russian and had an explosive vest.
Later it was said that the man would be the father of a pupil.
The police were working trying to de-mine the place.
Counterterrorism prosecutors arrived at the scene immediately.
The counterterrorism crisis cell of the Interior Ministry was opened, as in the terrorist attack on the former
Charlie Hebdo
newsroom
.
There is also the general directorate of internal security and the antiterrorist sub-directorate.
The incident occurred in Conflans Saint Honorine, in the Yvelines region, around five in the afternoon, French time, half an hour from Paris.
The probable perpetrator was killed by the police in Eragny, in a residential neighborhood of a neighboring commune in Val d'Oise, when he tried to attack the policemen.

Around 5 pm, in Eragny, a team of policemen from the Conflans Saint Honorine crime squad discovered a man with a kitchen knife.
When they demanded that he put down the knife, he rejected them and tried to attack them.
"Aggressive and threatening" was killed by the police.
Beside him, they discovered the body of a decapitated man.
The attacker would be Algerian, born in 1992.
The police could not get closer because the attacker
apparently
had
an explosive vest
and a demining operation was carried out immediately.
The counterterrorism team announced late at night that it has taken up the case.
Prime Minister Jean Castex was on his way to the scene.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, who was in Morocco, is urgently returning to France.
Val d'Oise police advise people to avoid the area at the level of the boulevard de la comuna and boulevard Eragny.
"It is unprecedented violence," said the mayor of Eragny, Thibault Humbert. "We must highlight the speed of the police to neutralize the individual."
Muhammad's cartoons have already sparked three terrorist attacks in France
: the massacre of his Charlie Hebdo journalists, the 2015 chain of attacks on cafes and stadiums in France in 2015 that ISIS claimed, and two journalists two weeks ago, stabbed by a young Pakistani.
