Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the start of Russian vaccine tests against the Corona virus, "Sputnik V", in Venezuela.
Maduro explained, as reported by Russia Today, that 2000 volunteers have been selected for clinical trials, including his son and sister, expressing his hope that by next April the country will begin mass vaccination of the population with the Russian drug, stressing that the first to receive the vaccine will be doctors, education workers, the elderly and others. The Russian Direct Investment Fund announced recently that it had received requests from 20 countries to conduct clinical tests for the vaccine in them and in Latin America, and trials are expected to take place as well in Brazil and Mexico.
