Events every Saturday

It was the first large-scale rally since the lifting of restrictions on Thursday, decided within the framework of containment, prohibiting demonstrations more than a kilometer from his home.

Since July, demonstrators have been meeting every Saturday evening to criticize the economic and health management of the pandemic by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, indicted for corruption.

In Jerusalem, demonstrators, waving Israeli flags and wearing masks bearing the inscription "Crime minister", a pun on "Prime minister" (prime minister), chanted their anti-Netanyahu slogans in their vuvuzelas.

In Tel Aviv, several thousand demonstrators, mainly Israelis who came to protest with their families, demonstrated according to an AFP photographer.

Police reported several incidents in several parts of the country in which "suspects" attacked protesters with tear gas and insulted them.

Several of these individuals have been arrested, police said in a statement.

This week, counter-protesters from far-right groups violently attacked anti-Netanyahu protesters in the town of Holon, near Tel Aviv.
