A total of 22 people were arrested during the operation, including crew members, supervisors, etc., aged between 20 and 67, and 4 vessels were detained for investigation.
The expensive fruits seized this time are worth about 500,000, including Shizuoka melons, Qingwang grapes, etc. All goods not stored in the freezer will be destroyed, and other goods will be confiscated later.

According to Lu Shaohui, the commander of the Special Investigation Group 1 of the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau of Customs, a total of 150 people were mobilized in the operation, a cargo ship, 3 barges and 3 tugboats were detained, and 240 tons of frozen meat and 4 tons of precious fruits were seized. About 20 million yuan, 22 people were arrested, aged between 20 and 67, including some crew members, supervisors, etc., of which two were from the Mainland.
The customs does not rule out the case as group manipulation, and the case is still under investigation.

As well as chicken feet and other frozen meat, this batch of frozen meat comes from the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Chile, India, etc. The import tax on the mainland is 70%, and the value-added tax is 7%. A total of 15 million taxes can be evaded; for fruits, Including Qingwang grape, Shizuoka melon, passion fruit, tomato, kirin fruit, etc., the tax is about 70 to 80%, and the value-added tax is about 10-13%. It is believed that the 500,000 yuan tax can be avoided.
He said that due to the implementation of the "List of Meat Products Exported to China from Countries or Regions that Meet the Evaluation Requirements", all imported frozen meat must be declared to the mainland customs through formal channels. Indian beef was confirmed to have skin disease last year and the mainland had banned India last year. The entry of beef into the mainland is believed to be the cause of smuggling by criminals.
He continued that if the frozen meat is not well preserved during the smuggling process, it may carry germs and enter the market or cause hidden concerns for food safety.
According to market prices, the price of Qingwang grapes can be as high as $600 a pound.
