Dany Atrache and his wife, Dacha, made the decision to leave Lebanon while they were refugees in the toilets of their home.

The fashion designer was in his garden with his daughter on August 4, in the Achrafieh district of Beirut, when he heard a sound, a vibration, followed by the explosion.
The blast swept away the doors and windows of his residence, a traditional home in the Christian sector in the eastern part of the Lebanese capital.

The couple and their daughters, aged 15 and 10, took shelter without understanding what had just happened.
Dacha and the youngest of the children were hit in what Dany Atrache calls the
“attack”.
