About half a million children up to the age of six returned to the education system today (Sunday), with the partial removal of the restrictions imposed by the government during the closure.

The decision to return 20,000 educational institutions to activity was made only over the weekend, and the staffs at the kindergartens found themselves unwilling to open and without a solution for their children who do not return to school.

The parents welcomed the opening of the kindergartens, but also criticized the government's decision-making procedures and expressed concern about another closure.

Michal Sheetrit, the mother of a five-year-old man who returned to kindergarten in Givatayim, criticized the state's conduct.

"It was wonderful to bring them back to kindergarten, he is a little excited and having a hard time after so many days at home. They were close to us for a month and only two weeks in kindergarten, and had to undergo adjustment," she said.

"Our kids pay the price."

"I feel wonderful, I trust the kindergarteners and the system, they have long had to be returned to the kindergartens. The conduct of the state has been catastrophic, and whoever pays the price is our children. They are already paying the price. My child has to go up to first grade and I do not know how to catch up. The gaps, "she added.

Maya, the mother of a two-year-old girl, accompanied her to a private kindergarten full of concerns.

"Until a few days ago he was not sure if it would open. In the end it opened because of the financial conduct, the parents. I believe they will keep the rules well enough, and it will be okay. I am not afraid of that," she said.

"I am more afraid of the conduct of the country. I try to be optimistic and think that they will not open up the economy too quickly and will not allow red cities to open up."

"The conduct of the Ministry of Education is irresponsible."

Vered, a complementary kindergarten teacher in Givatayim, returned to work but was left without a solution for her own children.

"The kindergarten is starting back, and I leave my children at home with my husband who has to take days off from work so I can go back to work," she said.

"Just yesterday we were informed about the clubs for vital teaching staff and I have not yet had time to check it out. I am waiting to see what the return to kindergarten will be like and the adjustment after all the breaks."

She said, "The conduct of the Ministry of Education is irresponsible, they did not give us enough time to do tests. Only on Friday were we sent to be tested, with some having answers and others not. The outline is not clear either. Only yesterday we received instructions on who can go to kindergartens and who can not, but all teaching staff He came with a lot of motivation to be there for the children. "

"The feeling is disturbing. It's a return to routine that is temporary."

Michal Baram, a teacher at the Arbel Kindergarten in Mevaseret Zion, spoke about the feelings that accompany the opening of educational institutions.

"The feeling is stressful, more worrying right, but I trust the parents and the staff," she said.

"We had a conversation yesterday with the supervisor, and the assistants arrived on Thursday and cleaned up."

Baram added: "I am very excited, even though I have been in daily contact with them. This is back to normal, even though it is temporary. I am pretty sure we will return to closing again at some point."

Michal, a mother of five-year-old Yuval who returned to kindergarten in Mevaseret Zion, said that "he had a lot of fun at home because he has big brothers and he did not feel alone. It's weird, it's re-absorption, but I trust the staff with my eyes closed. I'm sure he's great." .

She said, "He got used to being at home. It's been a long time, and you forget a little bit about what a girlfriend is, run around and even argue."

Son Yuval said: "I want to go back."

"We are thirsty for routine."

Zehavit, a mother of three-and-a-half-year-old Tzlil who studies in a kindergarten in Mevaseret Zion, is happy to be back to normal.

"It's a good feeling to come back because it's very difficult at home, the integration of the children and also the work and everything together. We are thirsty for a routine," she said.

"But take into account that there may be a third closure and isolation, but that's part of the reality."

Zehavit added that the children and women of the team kept in touch during the closure period.

"The kindergarten teachers sent messages and there were zooms and updates and tips. They zoomed in before Sukkot, and the kindergarten teacher went through the yards with Sukkot kits and saw them from a distance."

"Kids need a routine and a framework."

Shiri Soreqi from Hadera, a mother of two children who returned to compulsory and pre-compulsory kindergarten, welcomed the opening of educational institutions.

"Returning to kindergarten is a welcome move, the children need a routine and an educational framework appropriate to their age," she said.

"The children were waiting to return to kindergarten and meet their friends and the educational staff."

Gilad, the father of a child in a compulsory kindergarten in Hadera, expressed hope that the return to educational institutions would be continuous.

"The moment has finally come for the children to return to their natural framework. I have great doubts about the whole matter of education through the zoom, a child needs a physical encounter with his educator," he said.

"I hope that this time the return will be continuous and effective. In fact, we need to check carefully whether this whole year has given the children the required education or 20% of the curriculum."

Five-year-old Omar Levy also came to the kindergarten in Hadera with his father Itzik, who expressed hope that the illness would not lead to the return of the strict restrictions.

"It's time to go back to kindergarten. I very much hope we do not experience closure again."

Meanwhile, the teachers' union announced this morning a labor dispute in kindergartens and special education.

This, "following the disregard of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education for the health of teaching staff in special education and a return to regular work in kindergartens without appropriate protection and without capsules," in their words.

The secretary general of the Teachers' Union, Yaffa Ben-David, called on the Ministry of Education to reach an immediate dialogue, "to ensure the safety of the teaching staff - both in special education and in kindergartens."
