Spain recorded 152,000 new cases of the emerging coronavirus during the past two weeks.
The Spanish Ministry of Health said that it recorded 5,300 new cases of the virus today, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 988,322 people, while yesterday’s statistics were 974,449 people.
Last week, the Ministry recorded 553 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 34,210.
Spain is the first country in Western Europe in terms of the number of Coronavirus infections, and in recent weeks the country has witnessed significant increases in new cases.
In this context, Spanish Health Minister Salvador Sella announced today that the government is considering imposing new general restrictions to contain the outbreak, including a night ban in the most affected areas.
