Various cultural events that combine zajal, poetry, plastic art, music, and lectures, included in the First Infidelity Festival for Poetry and Zajal, which is organized by the As-Suwayda Culture Directorate over a period of three days in a number of cultural centers to commemorate the battle of unbelief against the French colonialist.

The festival activities hosted by the stage of the Arab Cultural Center theater in the city of As-Suwayda included the presentation of a short documentary film about the battle of infidelity written by parents and grandparents on July 21, 1925, which was the first victory of the Great Syrian Revolution led by the mujahid Sultan Pasha al-Atrash after the revolutionaries managed to defeat the French occupation forces Led by Norman.

The Syrian Scheherazade Troupe for Dancing Theater, led by artist Mazen al-Hakim, presented a folkloric dancing exhibition that carries sentimental and patriotic values ​​and reflects the heroics of the Syrian people, their brave army and their sacrifices in defense of the homeland.

The festival's activities also included an artistic concert in which the poets Bassam Hamdan, Hassoun Saif al-Din, Nabih Alamuddin Kabul and Jamal Abu Qais participated in it, during which they dealt with various national, spin, and social topics and harvest seasons.

Concurrently, the cultural window in the town of Kufr hosted a zajal evening entitled “The symmetry of popular poetry and zajal in the songs of the harvest,” in which the poets Adnan Alamuddin, Ghassan Jammoul, Sind Rakab, Suleiman Khalaf, Fadia Khadaj and Maha al-Safadi focused on singing the harvest, its customs and rituals, in addition to social and national themes.

Each of the poets Nassib Farhat, Muzaffar Al Sahnawi, Samir Al Shamaa, and the poet Rababa Fida Rasheed performed an art concert in the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Salkhad, in which the poets addressed national, social and sentimental issues.

The festival's activities included a lecture on zajal, its history and its origins at the cultural window in the town of infidelity, a display panel between zajal and plastic art in the Temple of the Goddess of Water in the town of Qanawat, in addition to a musical listening session simulating the folklore in the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Shahba, as well as a lecture on modernity and contemporary in Zajal poetry in the cultural center in the town of Imtan.

Basil Al-Hinnawi, Director of Culture in Sweida, stressed that poetry and zajal are of great importance in our society and have a distinguished position in Sweida, especially that poetry represents the Diwan of Championships and the record of glories, considering that the festival is a starting point for the development of this art to take its role and its sublime position in our society and to be a clear record of the heroics of our people and the sacrifices of our martyrs and the victories of our heroic army .
