The vice moves up: Stephan Treffler replaces Wolfgang Reiter as chairman of the local ÖDP association in Erding.

Both sit on the district council, Treffler also sits on the city council.

Erding

- The ÖDP local association in Erding is starting the next three years with a new board and new ideas.

Since the previous chairman, Wolfgang Reiter, has risen to become district chief, a successor had to be found in Erding - his previous deputy Stephan Treffler.

“We want to draw attention to grievances in society with further petitions and initiatives.

On October 31, we will have an information stand on the subject of standard returnable bottles in the city center, and on November 7, on the Kleiner Platz, we will have one on the supply chain law, ”said Reiter.

“The planned tax revaluation of individually shaped bottles penalizes conventional returnable bottles and thus affects small, regional breweries in particular,” he said.

The supply chain law, in turn, should make compliance with human rights enforceable along production routes.

Reiter also has an opinion on the discussion about flood protection in Erding: "Protecting the city without high walls will hardly be possible." Unless suitable areas could keep the water somewhat in the upper reaches.

It would be good to reduce the flow velocity through wider banks.

"But here, as with other nature issues, we encountered resistance," said Reiter.

He admitted that an election to the board had "actually been due for a long time".

The original date was too close to the local elections, "and then Corona blocked us".

The members relied on the city council and district councilor Treffler as well as his town hall colleague Eva Döllel, who was confirmed as vice.

The assessors are District Councilors Christina Treffler, Helmut Trinkberger and Georg Gschlößl.

In his retrospect, Reiter mentioned above all the “Popular initiative to save the bees, probably the most successful in the history of Bavaria”.

He and his comrades-in-arms, some of whom had appeared in a bee costume in Erding, were often laughed at at the beginning.

"In the end, however, the social pressure was so great that the CSU government almost completely adopted our concept."

Since the local association draws its funds from the district association's cash register, there were no figures in this regard.
