Flamengo player Gustavo Henrique is recovering from a testicular injury suffered in his team's 5-1 victory over Corinthians.

The Brazilian was substituted in the first half of Sunday's game after a red stain was visible on his shorts.

"The athlete Gustavo Henrique was evaluated by the urologist Paulo Henrique, who recommended three days of rest and antibiotic therapy," the Rio de Janeiro club reported in a statement.

"He remains under the care of the medical department."

Henrique, a 27-year-old defender, who joined Flamengo this year from Santos, also commented on his condition.

After the huge victory over Corinthians, Flamengo is second in Brasileirão, with the same points as Internacional de Porto Alegre.

The Rio de Janeiro team plays this Wednesday against Atlético Junior de Barranquilla, for the Copa Libertadores.
