FOPEA, ADEPA, opposition legislators and dozens of journalists on
Wednesday expressed their solidarity with Daniel Santoro and repudiated the ruling
of the federal judge of Dolores and a member of “Legitimate Justice” that expanded the prosecution of the
Clarín
journalist
.
In a statement, FOPEA, which brings together 600 journalists from all over the country, expressed its
"concern and condemnation"
of the ruling, which is
"a new attempt to criminalize"
the practice of journalism in Argentina.
FOPEA, chaired by Fernando Ruiz, began to analyze the ruling in its entirety for an eventual broader pronouncement.
For his part, ADEPA director Daniel Dessein also
expressed his concern over the ruling against Santoro during the 76th General Assembly of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA)
