Yang Runxiong: "Zero tolerance" for bullying in schools

Yang Runxiong said that the Education Bureau has always adopted a "zero tolerance" policy for discrimination, bullying and violence on campus, and will never accept bullying in any form or for any reason, and remind schools to pay attention to the performance and behavior of their students from time to time. People should not engage in acts of hatred, bullying, or even violence because of different positions, different political opinions, or family occupations and backgrounds.

Yang Runxiong said that the authorities also remind schools to pay special attention to students who are more likely to be bullied at different times, including the emotions of the children of Hong Kong police officers during social incidents, pay attention to how they get along with their classmates, and take care to protect students and their families. The personal information of any student may not be disclosed to the outside world.

Regarding cases of suspected bullying of police officers’ children resulting from social incidents, the Hong Kong Police Force and the Education Bureau have established a notification mechanism. If the Police Force receives a case, it will forward the case to the Education Bureau for follow-up.
