Dennis Potodinsky, a 36-year-old Haifa resident, was sentenced to eight months in prison today (Wednesday) for throwing stones at protesters against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Maxim junction in Haifa about two months ago.

One of the stones hit a demonstrator, a resident of Nesher, who needed medical treatment at a hospital.

This is the first sentence for a brain attack against Netanyahu.

Haifa Magistrate's Court Judge Orit Kantor also convicted Putodinsky of racist remarks against the Ethiopian policeman who felt he had been arrested.

According to the indictment, Putodinsky resisted his detention by the police, sweared and even attacked the policeman who noticed what was happening, jumped at him and arrested him.

It also appears that he spat at the policeman's head and made rude and racist remarks such as "I am white and you are black" and "stinking Ethiopian".

The insults, curses and threats continued even near the mobile.

Also last weekend, demonstrators were attacked against the prime minister in Haifa.

On Einstein Street in Carmel, unknown individuals sprayed tear gas at the protesters at the intersection, and fled.

Attendees were able to register the license plate number, called police and soon similar reports came from other protest centers in the city.

After the investigation began, Haifa police arrested three residents of Kiryat Yam, about 20 years old, on suspicion of committing the acts.

In the Bat Galim neighborhood, the protesters claimed that they had suffered insults and violence from Likud supporters.

Aviva (pseudonym), who took part in the demonstration, said that close to 20 people stood on the sidewalk across the road and demonstrated for Netanyahu, but "kept crossing the road in our direction to provoke provocations, approached us with curses and threats that also escalated into physical violence."

She said that at one point she approached one of the men "to tell him to go back to his side across the road without provoking provocations and to walk two meters away from us."

So, she said, the guy refused and together with his friend threatened her "they would blow my head off and smash all the bones in my body".

Another guy also spat in her face.

"I admit that designers and rage that erupted I threw the spoon I had in my hand on him, which I brought from home to make noise and support the demonstration. Then, the rest of the gang moved to our side and started hitting me. I felt a strong blow to the head from behind."
