The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has defended his position in the motion of censure that Vox has presented against the coalition government. They will always ask for more. Every time they give in, the more they are going to despise them and the more they will call them the cowardly right, ”Sánchez stressed. “You hate Spain as it is. What he calls patriotism is exasperated nationalism. He has half of his compatriots left over, ”Sánchez told the leader of the far right, Santiago Abascal. The president has referred to the ultra initiative, the fifth in the history of democracy: "We have witnessed a propaganda display that does not benefit the nation, but sows discord and distracts energy." The president concluded his speech with a wink to all groups in Congress: "The motion can be constructive if the majority of Spaniards closes the way to the project of hatred, fury and shock." The PP, for its part, still does not clarify its vote and the party's general secretary, Teodoro García Egea, has assured that the Vox initiative is “a joke.” Abascal has asked the leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, to support the initiative against the president and have reminded him that the popular govern in three autonomies thanks to the votes of the far right. The Vox initiative is only guaranteed 52 votes from the far right party. Deputies of opposite political sign as Ciudadanos, ERC, o More Country have described the debate as a "waste of time" at a time when Spain is fighting the second wave of the coronavirus.
