A new school center is to be built in Wolfratshausen.

Councilor Alfred Fraas (CSU) has developed his own draft without being asked - it should now be examined.

Wolfratshausen

- The discussion about the renovation and expansion of the elementary and middle school on Hammerschmiedweg, which began in 2016, is entering the next round: In a joint motion to the city council, the parliamentary groups of the CSU and Wolfratshauser List are calling for the cultural advisor Alfred Fraas (CSU ) to have the concept drawn up for a new school center examined by experts.

CSU parliamentary group leader Peter Plößl submitted the application to the town hall on Tuesday.

CSU and List WOR insist that the Fraas proposal be examined

As reported, Fraas had made his own proposal public because the existing planning of the school center by the office “karlundp” with 60 million euros is not financially feasible in the eyes of the city council.

In the meantime, at the request of the committee, “karlundp” has sounded out the potential for savings: 22 million euros in total.

Mayor and school clerk are skeptical

At the same time, Fraas presented a plan that provides for additional classrooms, a new triple gym with underground parking and a glass pyramid on the school grounds on Hammerschmiedweg.

According to his calculation, the cost is around 24 million euros.

Town hall chief Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW) and school advisor Fritz Meixner (SPD) emphasize that Fraas assumed completely different principles;

among other things, several classrooms would be missing.

The CSU and the Wolfratshauser List now insist on an examination of the Fraas plan: "The city council should decide to have the long-standing second concept (...) examined by experts in such a way that the two concepts can be objectively weighed for decision-making" , it says in the application that the parliamentary group spokesmen Peter Plößl and Helmut Forster (List WOR) have signed.

"In the interest of our city, our school, our children and our teachers", the city council must initiate the examination, it is said to justify.

Especially from a financial point of view: "With a cost difference in the tens of millions, it would be downright negligent to leave this concept unchecked and simply reject it." Even if an investigation is accompanied by a delay in the mammoth project, "we will not forgive ourselves anything if we do the second." Have the concept checked ”.

Applicants see the “great opportunity” of “getting everything we want” at a lower price.

CSU and List WOR do not have a majority in the Council

School advisor Meixner has a different opinion: The suggestion of his city council colleague Fraas “is not an alternative draft”, he stated in a press conference on Monday (we reported).

The cultural advisor “starts from different principles”.

Plößl and former mayor Forster oppose that they “do not want to be accused at some point of having acted prematurely and without exploring possible opportunities”.

Not least because the renovation and expansion of the Hammerschmiedschule is a project "the financial dimension of which goes far beyond what we previously had to tackle in Wolfratshausen".

The city council is expected to rule on the application in November.

In order for the Fraas concept to be examined, elected officials from other political groups must agree.

CSU (five) and List Wolfratshausen (three) together make up only eight out of 25 city council members.
