The head of the Nasserite Party in Egypt, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Ela, stressed the need for solidarity with Syria in order to lift the unjust siege imposed on it.
Abu Al-Ela said in a statement to SANA's correspondent in Cairo that “Syria is facing an economic war that must be confronted,” adding that “solidarity in all its forms with the Syrian state is a duty for all Arab and free regional powers in light of the continuing unfair US and European blockade against Syria.”
Abu Al-Ela called for the organization of political and popular convoys in order to break the economic siege on Syria, stressing that "the European Union’s continuation of the policy of unilateral coercive economic measures and the extension of the siege on the Syrian state is a continuation of the international crime committed amidst a silence that shames the UN institutions."
Abu Al-Ela stated that American and European policies serve the plans of the Zionist occupation entity and are planning to target the Syrian state politically, militarily and economically, stressing that all these policies have failed due to the "legendary" steadfastness of the Syrian people, army and leadership.
Abu Al-Ela stressed the need for the Egyptian-Syrian relations to return to normal, especially in light of common threats, stressing that Syria has the credit for exposing and confronting the Zionist plot aimed at dividing the region.
