Yes, it was essential that the whole nation pay homage to Samuel Paty.
Yesterday's ceremony was dignified, fair, eminently French.
The President of the Republic has found the words to speak to the nation.
This tribute was essential, but it will not be enough.
Everyone is now wondering how far political Islam will go and how far the terrorists will go.
For years in France, they have murdered children, killed police officers, killed soldiers, murdered a priest in his church and now beheaded a teacher on the way to his school.
All this, in 2020, in France, in a great democracy.
