35 minutes had passed - remembers Daniel Ahern (50) with precision - since the bank employee had denied him access to her safe.

So he went to talk to the manager: he wanted to know what happened to "life savings."

He called his partner, Ines, and hoped it was all a mistake.

She, that it was a joke in bad taste.

Ahern had had that safe for 15 years, but three months ago it was closed without notice.

The bank had to cancel another, but they got the wrong number.

The one that belonged to Ahern was assigned to another client without checking what was inside and, according to the victim,

they stole $ 100,000

.

"I

hired an insecurity box,

" Daniel is indignant from his home in dialogue with

Clarín

.

They were breathless minutes.

One, two, he doesn't remember.

But when the treasurer confirmed what was happening, tears welled up.

His box was No. 75 at branch 331 of Banco BBVA Francés, in Márquez and Panamericana, in Boulogne.

"

Is there something else inside?

Daniel asked desperately, while a clerk and a bank employee certified the opening of the box.

They had to call the new owner - who took about five hours to arrive - to open it with his key, the same one they gave him when they were assigned.

Inside was a paper bag with his money.

In the back, hidden, unseen, another black woman, like garbage, with $ 25,000 from Ahern.

"Isn't there something else, a white one, an envelope?" Daniel insisted while everyone asked him to calm down.

The clerk filmed, the treasurer counted, but no:

there was nothing else

.

Daniel passed his hand two or three times, as if trying to find something that he knew well was no longer there.

The missing envelope, his, the one he carefully put away, had another

$ 100,000 that now no one knows where it is

.

"They are wrong, first, on July 20, when they cancel Daniel's safe without notifying him. They insist on the error when they are going to give the key to another client and it does not open. And before that, it does not seem to them that it can there is a strange thing, so they call a locksmith to pick the lock ", explains Marcelo Di Carli, the lawyer, brother and brother-in-law of the victims.

Daniel Ahern, whistleblower.

"When they manage to open it, they take out the sheet metal box, they do not verify that it is empty and they give it to the new customer. As far as we know

they gave someone else Daniel's life savings,

" he adds.

On August 7, Ahern found out what was happening and since then he participated in two mediations with the company BBVA Banco Francés to get back what was taken from him.

There were two hearings and they had reached an agreement, but before sealing it

the bank lifted the offer and refused to compensate him

.

"We are not responsible," they were told.

In addition, they proposed to return a sum in pesos.

"We behave, I think, in the best way. As honestly as possible and we received a slap. And that slap right now hurts us a lot. We are very distressed, my wife is very distressed. It

is our life savings, it was for buy our house

", describes Daniel.

"So much effort, so much sacrifice, you do everything right, you break down working and this happens to you," he adds.

With the notary, the lawyers and Daniel's anguish, on the day of the opening of the boxes they made a report in which BBVA Banco Francés recognizes that "due to

an involuntary operating error

" they canceled the 75/8 box (that of the victim theft) instead of "76/5".

Part of the act of the opening of safe deposit boxes in the bank where a client reported that money was stolen.

"The bank that had to give him security, gave him insecurity. The place that had to give him answers does not give them. The attitude is very inexplicable," said Di Carli.

Before the query from this newspaper, spokespersons for the bank responded: "

We are in a negotiation process typical of any instance of mediation

."

So far they have not delivered the security cameras to determine what happened inside the room, how many people had contact with that money or formalized a criminal complaint.

The hearings have been in the civil justice and only with the objective that the victim can recover his money.

"I have an SME, we are dedicated to cleaning service, we row it day by day, imagine what this pandemic was for us. We row it from scratch," he adds to describe his anguish.

"I am an ordinary, normal guy who tries to do things well. We rented many years ago. The dream of putting cuff by cuff together to buy the little house was vanished. I am having a very bad time, I try to contain myself in front of my wife, of my children, but when I'm alone the tears fall. Because

everything

collapsed, all the dream I had collapsed, our little project, "Daniel closes.

Hi everyone!!

In case anyone is interested in making this news viral, I will tell them that the BBVA bank has mistakenly violated and granted my safe to another client without verifying its contents and they have stolen our life savings from my wife and me
