Moscow-SANA, Russian President Vladimir Putin called again today for the lifting of the imposed economic coercive measures

Moscow-Sana

Russian President Vladimir Putin called again today for the lifting of the coercive economic measures imposed on Syria.

Sputnik News Agency reported that Putin stressed in a statement during his video-link participation in the Valdai Dialogue Club “the need to lift restrictions during the Corona pandemic,” stressing the help of the Syrian people and meeting their medical needs, especially at a time when the Corona pandemic is spreading.

It is noteworthy that the United States of America and the European Union impose unilateral coercive measures targeting the livelihood of the Syrian people, because Syria stands in the way of their plans in the region.

On the other hand, Putin drew attention to the change of the world order since the end of the Second World War and “the end of the domination of the great powers over the world,” noting that the United States, which had had absolute hegemony in the world during a previous period, was no longer able to claim its exceptionalism.

Putin called on Washington to hold a dialogue with Beijing itself and not to throw it at Russia on the issue of the Strategic Offensive Weapons Treaty, noting that his country's position on the treaty “is to make this agreement multilateral and our Chinese friends join it ... and we never oppose that, but the matter should not be thrown. We have to for Beijing to sign this agreement. ”

Putin added, "We do not adhere to this treaty ... if our partners decide that it is not necessary, we cannot prevent them ... Russia's security will not be affected, especially because we have the latest weapons systems."

In another context, Putin pointed out that the Corona pandemic has seriously changed all areas of life, stressing that the virus has not receded and poses a serious threat.

Putin indicated that the international community is trying to take certain joint measures in fighting the virus, but "not everything has been done," considering that "there are opportunities that have been missed and must be the subject of a frank international discussion."
