and above all digestible rules deemed complicated which nevertheless apply to some 19 million employees in the private sector.

The task, titanic for those who have already leafed through the little red book from Dalloz (36,878 pages for its 2020-2021 edition), will have lasted two years.

The effective online launch of the ad hoc platform (code.travail.gouv.fr) dates back to January 16.

Since then, the digital labor code has been viewed more than 2 million times, with peaks exceeding more than 20,000 visits per day during lockdown.

In particular, the tool answers, in a synthetic way and in everyday language, the 50 most frequent questions in labor law concerning nearly 8 out of 10 employees: length of notice of retirement, length of the trial period, conditions of multiple jobs, amount of the seniority or precariousness bonus… Unsurprisingly, the research which comes up most often relates to paid leave, contractual termination, resignation, fixed-term contracts and… teleworking.

Moreover, the platform maintains a Covid-19 file which lists all the useful information (sheets, infographics, model documents, health protocols, etc.) for employees and employers in the context of the pandemic.
