October 23 is a special day for world football, as Pelé, Brazil's greatest idol, has his birthday.
O Rei
is celebrating
80 years
and of course he was saluted by various distinguished personalities within the sport.
And among them was Diego Armando Maradona, who posted a message on his Instagram account.
"I want to join this universal tribute: very happy 80 years of life, Rey Pelé,"
Diego wrote to wish the world champion a happy birthday with Brazil in Sweden 1958, Switzerland 1962 and Mexico 1970.

uploaded two images where he is seen hugging and smiling next to the former player, a star of world football.
With the Santos shirt, O Rei played between 1956 and 1974, where he played 666 games and scored 646 goals.
He won 12 titles, including two Liberators and two Intercontinentals.
And with the Brazilian National Team he played 91 games and scored 77 goals, thus being the top scorer.
