The Syrian Company for the Processing of Grapes in Sweida has completed the operations of receiving the juicy grape crop from farmers for the current season, with quantities amounting to about 3253 tons.
The general manager of the company, Engineer Fadi Choucair, said in a statement to the SANA reporter that the quantities delivered were less than expectations for the current season, but better than last season, in which 1932 tons were received.
And he indicated that, to date, 625 million pounds have been transferred to the Peasants' Union to be disbursed to farmers as prices for Muslim grapes to the company, provided that the transfer of the remaining amounts will be completed during the coming days, at a price of 250 pounds per kilogram of white grapes and 300 pounds for black grapes.
The Syrian Company for the Processing of Grapes in Sweida is one of the outlets for marketing the crop in Sweida.
