Drama in Munich: seriously injured people struggle with death after falling from a crane
"One of them was the
crane operator
who was seriously injured and was lying on the roof," said a spokesman for the fire department.
The 40-year-old man was sitting a few meters above the floor in his cab when he was thrown out, a police spokesman said.
He was taken care of by the rescue workers directly on the roof before a helicopter pulled the stretcher with the injured person on a long line up and flew him to a hospital.
“The second fell over
with the crane and fell into a large container on the street,
” the fire department spokesman continued.
The boom of the crane had first thundered onto the flat roof, but then snapped off at the edge of the building and crashed into the street.
The boom, which was significantly longer than the five-story building, was bent and compressed several times.
