Racing saved by its club children
We buried Racing wrongly, twenty minutes from the end.
However, the Ciel et Blanc have lived up to their motto, showing all the “heart” they enjoy.
Carried by his club children (20 players from French training courses, 8 players trained at the club on the Ciel et Blanc scoresheet), Racing achieved the unthinkable, recovering its delay to win in the last second to his neighbor.
As a symbol, it was the Chavancy test which revived the Racing 92 machine. And it was on a penalty after the siren that Gibert offered the victory to Ciel et Blanc.
Home made
.
Segonds had however succeeded
He was to be elected man of the match, after bringing Stade Français to victory with his powerful boot.
He was finally stolen the show by his opposite Antoine Gibert, at the last second.
Joris Segonds had an exceptional game in terms of kicking, scoring a 6/7 against the poles and adding a superb drop to his money bag.
Yet not enough to ensure success for his team.
The Sky and White are smiling again
They were left with a bitter defeat in the Champions Cup final last Saturday in Bristol (27-31).
The Racingmen quickly found their smile.
For this, nothing like a derby against its best enemy, the Stade Français.
A stunning scenario, a snatch victory and here is the frustrating defeat already (almost) forgotten.
FLOPS
The catastrophic Parisian touch
This is the problematic area of Stade Français.
4 hits lost in the first period, 2 missed shots for Latu, a loss of ball from Da Silva… The touch was the failing sector for the stadians.
Too much at this level, too much to bury Racing for good at the end of the match.
Talalelei Gray at fault
This is the turning point of the match.
On the last action, "Tala" Gray, yet used to big deadlines and full of experience, comes to mingle with a ball carried by entering the side.
A gross fault, paid at a high price by the Stadists.
The penalty too much for Antoine Burban's teammates, sanctioned 17 times in the derby.
A fault that also tarnishes the XXL performance of the ex-Toulouse, author of 16 tackles.
Paris is scuttled
Eleven points ahead with twenty minutes from the end, 4 to 3 minutes from the end, 1 to 20 seconds from the final whistle… And the Parisians managed to lose a derby that they thought was promised.
A terrible blow for the men of Gonzalo Quesada, yet very present in the fight against Racing 92. But, for the third consecutive season, the men in pink must admit defeat on their lawn against the rival Sky and White.
