A shipment of medical aid provided by the World Health Organization to Syria arrived at Damascus International Airport today, which includes personal protection for health workers, medicines and medical supplies, with the aim of strengthening the response of health institutions to address the Covid 19 pandemic at the national level.

Assistant Minister of Health, Dr.Ahmed Khleifawi pointed to the importance of the WHO delegation's visit as it is the first of the organization's regional director to one of the member states of the Eastern Mediterranean Region after the announcement of the Corona pandemic, pointing to the existing coordination between the Syrian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization to take the necessary measures to address this pandemic.

Khleifawi pointed out that the 8.8 tons of aid provided to support the health sector in Syria includes medicines for the Coronavirus, individual means of protection for the medical staff, and some reagents for tests.
