Damascus University decided to disburse funds directly to graduate students who carry out research projects for masters and doctorates in its colleges and higher institutes, according to specific budgets.
According to the decision that Sanaa received a copy of today, the Scientific Research Council directly registers master's and doctoral research, whose budget is less than 500 thousand Syrian pounds for master's research and one million Syrian pounds for doctoral research, provided that the master's students are disbursed an amount of two hundred thousand Syrian pounds only and the rest of the amount allocated to him is not disbursed Except when publishing an additional external research on the required amount, as for doctoral students, an amount of 400 thousand Syrian pounds is spent, and the rest of the amount is not spent except when additional external research is published on the required amount, so that the entire amount allocated to students will be disbursed.
According to the decision, the research that exceeds the proposed budget is presented to the specialized research committees to research the importance of research and its need for the required funding, with an emphasis on not agreeing to include the financial proposal any of the following items: stationery, personal computers, transportation fees, student training, publication expenses, and fees for tests that can be done in the university's laboratories. .
The university emphasized that when the research presented by the student requires laboratory equipment, the specialized laboratory must secure the equipment within the laboratory’s processing plan. And when the scientific research requires the student to special computer equipment or software, it must be secured within the plan of the concerned department in the college.
This decision comes within the framework of the procedures and steps taken by Damascus University to encourage scientific research and external publication.
