Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today (Saturday) attacked French President Emmanuel Macron, saying, "What can be said about a leader who behaves in this way and harasses millions of believers? He will undergo mental tests."

The remarks of the Turkish president, who attacked his French counterpart for his steps against Islamic extremism in France, were made during a speech broadcast on Turkish television networks.

In response, France said the remarks were "unacceptable".

Erdogan went on to attack other European countries as well: "It is bringing its end to the forefront it has opened against Muslims and Islam. If it does not rid itself of this disease, Europe will explode and collapse into itself."

The Turkish president also referred to a raid by the German police on a mosque in Berlin, which apparently carried out Islamist elements linked to terrorist organizations, and warned: "European fascism has reached a new stage with incessant attacks on the rights of Muslims."

Referring to the fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh region between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Erdogan clearly sided with Baku.

Erdogan claimed in his speech that Azerbaijan is re-occupying territories belonging to it legally, while European countries, including the Minsk group (including Russia, France and Belarus, which are trying to help bring about a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, PS), are working to arm Armenia instead of trying And bring about a ceasefire in the war that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people.
