European countries fail to take control of Corona Israel today

In light of the spread of the plague on the continent, some of the countries in it have set new records in the number of daily verified viruses • Slovakia declares closure, France expands restrictions

About a quarter of a million people have died so far across Europe from the corona virus since the onset of the plague, making it the second largest in America in terms of the number of victims.

In Britain, the highest death toll was recorded in Europe - 44,745.

It is followed by Italy with 37,210 dead, and Russia "lagging" behind it with 25,821 dead.

Germany crossed the threshold of 10,000 dead from the corona over the weekend.

Daily figures continue to show high death rates even today (Saturday), with 296 people dying in Russia in the last day, 179 in Poland, 174 in the UK, 151 in Italy and 125 in Ukraine.

At the same time, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia each set a new record in the daily verified number.

In view of the rapid spread of the second corona wave on the continent, and due to the fear of the collapse of health systems in various countries, traffic restrictions were significantly expanded over the weekend in some countries.

In France, the night closure was extended to almost the entire country;

Bars were completely closed;

Restaurants, cinemas and theaters are required to close their gates at 9pm;

And it is forbidden to hold parties or dinners in private homes.

The National Assembly in Paris today approved the government's proposal to extend the state of health emergency in the country until at least February 16, so that the government can decide for itself whether to extend the night closure or to declare a nationwide closure.

President Emanuel Macron estimated that the state of emergency would continue until next summer, and called on social networks to mobilize to persuade the general public to respect the restrictions to fight the plague.

The heads of eight of the 17 provinces in Spain have asked the government to declare a state of emergency in their territory in light of the spread of the disease.

So far a general closure has been imposed on Madrid and its environs and a night closure in Catalonia.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez warned his countrymen of "very difficult months" and called for discipline in the fight against the corona, but provoked harsh public criticism after being photographed with his wife in the company of Pope Benedict, none of them wearing a face mask.

The 84-year-old pope has consistently refrained from wearing a face mask in public.

Czech Prime Minister Andrei Bovis has demanded that his health minister resign, after it was photographed leaving a restaurant late in the evening and getting into his car without a face mask.

In doing so, the minister violated the closure provisions in his country, which recorded the highest relative level of infection in Europe since the outbreak of the second wave.

However, the minister refused to resign and explained that he did not violate the restrictions, as he was invited to a restaurant for a meeting with a hospital director and entered it from a private entrance.

Bobis has made it clear that he intends to fire the health minister himself earlier this week.

In view of the spread of the corona in the Czech Republic, which closed its borders from the entry of tourists, Austria and the Netherlands transferred 150 respirators to hospitals.

A special military hospital was established in Prague to treat corona patients.

Neighboring Slovakia has also declared an extensive closure, in which residents are barred from leaving their homes for work or food.

In the districts near Poland, leaving the house for those who are not equipped with the negative results of a corona test is strictly forbidden.

In view of the rapid spread of the virus throughout Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel has again appealed to the citizens of the country to "minimize contact with others as much as possible".

The Chancellor intends to speak on Thursday in the Bundestag, in a speech detailing the next steps her government intends to take in the fight against the virus.
