Five children were killed and nine others were injured in a terrorist attack today by armed men in southwestern Cameroon.
Reuters quoted the deputy governor of Kumba city, Ali Enugu, as saying that "gunmen attacked a school in the city and opened fire on the children, killing five of them and wounding nine others badly."
No further details were available about the identity of the gunmen or the reason for the attack.
This region in Cameroon is witnessing an increase in attacks recently as separatist militants impose curfews and close schools.
