Emotion in Poissy.
One of the 6-year-old girls seriously injured Thursday during the collapse of part of a gymnasium wall died on Saturday evening.
She had been brain dead for several hours and the doctors at Necker-Enfants Malades hospital in Paris had no hope of saving her.
She was hospitalized there Thursday in critical condition along with another girl of the same age.
The latter's vital prognosis is not engaged.
Both belonged to a group of 27 children participating in a holiday camp supervised by the local judo club.
This course took place in the grounds of the Patrick-Caglione gymnasium which hosts several activities including boxing and judo.
After having eaten, the children were enjoying a period of free time in one of the rooms when, for some reason as yet unknown, a section of wall two meters high suddenly collapsed.
"We immediately removed the stones covering the children and alerted the emergency services," said one of the three supervisors.
The equipment had been inspected by a safety commission in 2017 according to Karl Olive, the mayor (DVD) of Poissy.
