In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, the seven-day incidence has risen above the signal value of 50. This means that from Monday, October 26th, a mask requirement will also apply to primary school students.

In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, the seven-day incidence has risen above the signal value of 50.

This means that from Monday, October 26th, a mask requirement will also apply to primary school students.

  • When the signal value of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants was exceeded within seven days, the corona traffic light for Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen turned red on Sunday.

  • From Monday, October 26th, new regulations will apply.

  • Schools are also affected.

There is now a mask requirement in elementary schools, including during lessons.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - It had become apparent in the past few days: The number of new infections increased every day.

On Sunday, October 25th, (as of midnight), the Robert Koch Institute then reported a seven-day incidence of 52.4 for the district.

According to the Bavarian advance warning system, the corona traffic light turns red. Tighter regulations come into force.

Mask requirement now also for primary school students in class

One of them affects the schools: if the high school students had to wear the masks in class when the signal value of 35 was exceeded last week, this regulation now also affects primary school students.

This caused great displeasure in some districts that have already exceeded the limit value.

The state capital Munich, but also the district administrators of some Upper Bavarian districts, had therefore suspended the mask requirement for primary school students.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier sees no room for maneuver

After a letter from the Bavarian Ministry of Health last Friday, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier sees no more room for maneuver.

The letter states that the district authorities "can allow exceptions to the provisions of the ordinance in justified individual cases", but these must be "justifiable from an infection protection point of view", fully justified and approved by the responsible district government.

One could justify the suspension of the mask requirement for primary school students, for example, if the increasing number of infections could be limited to a community or a facility in the district.

"With us, however, the new infections are diffusely distributed across all communities," says Niedermaier.

So the requirement that elementary school students also have to wear a mask in class is implemented - even if Niedermaier's personal opinion is different.

“In my opinion, where people come together and stand together, you have to wear masks,” he says.

At the place in the classroom, if distances are observed, he does not consider the mouth and nose protection to be absolutely necessary.

“But the ministry's opinion is different.

And there is no leeway for us, ”emphasizes the district administrator.

He has also explained this to the numerous parents who have contacted him in the past few days.
