The Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Keela, announced today that 453 new cases of the emerging coronavirus and five deaths were recorded during the past twenty-four hours.
Reuters quoted Al-Kailah as saying in a statement that the Gaza Strip recorded the highest number of new infections, with 111 cases, explaining that the total number of Coronavirus infections among Palestinians since the outbreak of the pandemic last March reached 62,046 cases, of which 54,667 recovered and 519 died.
In turn, the Iraqi Ministry of Health announced today that it had recorded 55 deaths and 2,554 new infections with the emerging coronavirus.
The ministry stated in a statement today that the total number of deaths from the virus reached 10,623, and the number of infections reached 451,707.
Today, the UAE Ministry of Health announced the registration of 1,359 new cases of the new Corona virus and two deaths during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 125,123 and deaths to 477.
For its part, the Omani Ministry of Health announced today that the total number of recorded infections with the Coronavirus in the Sultanate reached 112,932, 1,174 deaths, and 99,278 recovered.
And in Slovakia, Ministry of Health data today showed that the country recorded 3,042 new cases of Coronavirus during the past twenty-four hours, in a third record daily toll.
The total number of cases in the country of 5.5 million has risen to 43,843.
In addition, within the framework of the measures taken to limit the spread of the virus, the French National Assembly voted in a first reading to extend the state of health emergency to February 16, while two-thirds of the French are subject to a night curfew.
These measures came after a new record for injuries was recorded, amounting to 45,422 injuries yesterday, a day after the one million mark was exceeded in France.
The curfew imposed in Paris and its suburbs and major cities was expanded to include 54 provinces in addition to Polynesia.
In Italy, the office of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced that Italy will impose new restrictions to curb the Corona virus, including the closure of cinemas and theaters after recording record numbers of new infections.
Cinemas, theaters, gyms and swimming pools will be closed.
