Certainty in the Corona madness: Bavaria should keep this little freedom

A year ago, the "corona normality" was unthinkable.

When it comes to perseverance, a little freedom to test helps in Bavaria - it's worth the money, says Sebastian Horsch.

One insight from the

corona epidemic

is how to come to terms with a reality that seemed unthinkable a year ago.

New infections are increasing every day, opponents of measures demonstrate, the Chancellor calls for people to stay at home.

All of this is very ugly, but increasingly a strange routine also emerges in dealing with the madness.

Comment on the Corona situation in Bavaria: 700,000 times certainty through free tests

We'll have to hold on.

Because according to all that is known, even

a first vaccine will

not immediately turn the wheel back to the pre-corona period.

The

masks

could stay for now, and first of all the anxious question as to whether you have been infected.

It is a real relief that it is already relatively easy to obtain certainty about this in Bavaria today.

Because unlike in other countries, the

corona test in the Free State is free

even without symptoms - and should remain so.

More than 700,000 Bavarians accepted this offer in the first three months.

700,000 times relief

- or certainty.

Of course, there are also good arguments against the

Bavarian regulation

.

If everyone can have their gut feeling tested, it is less systematic and significantly more expensive.

And it is certainly true that

medical personnel

must

always

have

priority

when

in doubt

.

But as long as capacities allow, free tests for everyone offer us all a little bit more freedom.

In these tight times it is worth the money.

The corona situation in Bavaria:

The corona virus is still on the rise in Bavaria.

On Sunday (October 25), the

State Office for Health reported

20 cities and districts above the value of 100 infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week.

The incidence in the

state capital of Munich

continued to rise from Sunday to Monday: from previously 100.6 to

114.5.

At the Bavarian-Austrian border, there is now a need for discussion because of the new rules.

Commuters from Austria need a certificate - their Bavarian counterparts or ski vacationers do not.
