said they were
injured

badly
that they both succumbed to their injuries.
According to initial investigations, a
73-year-old
man from the Lichtenfels district was on the tracks of the Kronach train station
on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m.
The man had a
rollator
with him.

To help him, a
50-year-old passer-by
also
climbed
onto the tracks.
It
is still unclear whether he overlooked
the
freight train
coming from the direction of Fürth, or whether he believed he could help the older man in time.
What is certain is that the train
caught
the two men
and immediately
fatally injured
the 73-year-old
.
