The British Financial Times newspaper said that the vaccine trials, supervised by the Oxford International University against the emerging corona virus, showed signs of hope for the elderly and for the group most vulnerable to serious diseases that may lead to death.

The newspaper indicated today that the preliminary results of this vaccine, which is being developed by the university in cooperation with AstraZeneca, revealed that it enhances the immunity of the elderly, as it stimulates the antibodies and T cells they have.

Jonathan Ball, professor of virology at the University of Nottingham, expressed his belief that these results constitute a promising sign of the ability of the vaccine to generate good immunity in the age group over 55 years.
