US presidential election: Wisconsin farmers can tip the ballot

REPORT - This rural state in the north of the country is one of the most contested in the countryside. In recent years, the gap between the Democrats' cities and the Republican countryside has widened.

The trees took on their fall colors by the Wisconsin River.

In the hills of Sauk County, the cornfields are finishing harvesting.

In front of the farms with their red barns and cylindrical silos, tractors stack bales of hay for the cattle in preparation for winter.

But like every four years in the same season, the landscape is also covered with electoral signs, a very American custom where people display their political opinions by the side of the road.

In Sauk County, three-quarters of these signs proudly announce their support for Donald Trump:

"If Biden wins, we will work for the Chinese,"

some signs say, or more simply:

"Farmers for Trump".

Certain slogans are a challenge:

"We remain standing in front of the flag, and we kneel in front of the cross"

, a slogan taking the opposite of the rallying sign of anti-racist militants, who kneel down in protest,
