At least two people were killed in a car bomb explosion in eastern Afghanistan.
A spokesman for the Interior Ministry said 25 others were wounded in the attack in Khost province.
The attack is said to have targeted special police forces.
At first no one confessed to the bombing.
An agreement between the Taliban and the USA signed at the end of February obliged the Islamists to begin peace negotiations.
The Afghan government has been talking to the militant Islamist Taliban about peace in the Qatari capital Doha since September.
So far, however, the talks have been unsuccessful.
The conflict in the country continues with a high level of violence.
On Sunday, 24 schoolchildren died and almost 60 were wounded in a suicide attack by the terrorist militia "Islamic State" (IS) in Kabul.
