In the S-Bahn trains that are currently on the move within Munich, passengers are almost piling up.
Despite the current
tense infection situation of
the
corona pandemic
in
Munich
, the
MVG
had
insisted on carrying out the
strike
despite an
agreement in the tariff dispute over
the weekend
.
Many commuters criticized this decision as
negligent.
2:58 p.m.:
In the afternoon, the situation is unchanged.
No improvement is currently expected
until about
8 p.m.

MVG strike during Corona in Munich: picture of bus stop shocked
7.44 a.m.:
Everyone expected these pictures.
And yet they are all the more shocking with the current Corona situation in Munich.
The MVG asks on its website to adhere to the distance rules - how this should currently work is probably up to the commuter himself.
A recent picture:
Thanks to @_verdi for the #strike at the #MVG
The distance is kept super!
Can this actually be counted as a bio-attack if you force people to be on the move during Corona times?

7.33 a.m
.: As was to be expected, many Munich and Munich commuters switched to cars today.
Result: traffic jam all over Munich.
There are already long backlogs on the well-known feeder routes to
Munich A995, A94, A96, A95, A8 and especially on the A9.
The
middle ring
is already hopelessly overloaded.

Update, Monday, 6:01 a.m
.: The strike in Munich has started.
Commuters currently have to get to work without the subway and with only very limited bus and tram traffic.
You can read the biggest disruptions and overloads here in the ticker.
Summary, Sunday, 8:01 p.m .: Munich
-
U-Bahns do not run at all, trams and buses restricted
.
The fact that yesterday in Potsdam a collective agreement for the more than two million employees at the federal and local levels does not change that.
Public transport employees in Bavaria are not affected by this agreement.
Negotiations will take place here next Friday.
Kai Winkler, Verdi negotiator for the local transport collective agreement (TV-N) in Bavaria, believes the strike is “inevitable” in order to increase the pressure on employers.
The union calls for a reduction in weekly working hours to 35 hours with full wages.
Furthermore, Verdi would like to enforce higher surcharges for night work as well as for Sunday and holiday services.
On the grounds that the employees in the driving service are exposed to special stresses due to shift work, as Winkler explains.
Strike in Munich: These restrictions threaten the bus, tram and subway
U-Bahn: no operation at the moment
Tram: severely restricted
Bus: every 20 minutes on all lines
Warning strike in Munich: Potsdam conclusion - does it also help the Munich strikers?
Stadtwerke (SWM) and Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG)
meanwhile hope that the Potsdam deal will be used as the basis for a tariff agreement in Munich's local transport.
The degree for nurses, educators or officials provides a corona premium for the lower pay brackets of 600 euros.
Middle wage groups receive 400 euros, upper wage groups 300 euros.
Furthermore, wages will rise by 1.4 percent as of April 1, 2021.
A further increase of 1.8 percent is planned for April 1, 2022.
Employers and unions also agreed on a
care allowance
totaling 120 euros per month from 2022. Heinrich Birner, Verdi managing director in Munich, was satisfied on Sunday: “
This is a good
deal
under the Corona conditions
.
We have implemented strong social components for the lower pay brackets. "
Strike in Munich: collective bargaining dispute - "An agreement at the negotiating table is within reach"
Will the deal also have a signal effect for public transport?
SWM and MVG promoted it on Sunday.
Personnel manager Werner Albrecht explained: “It should be a role model for Munich and
accelerate
a
solution
.
The volume still seems affordable for us.
However, the limit has been reached against the background of the slump in revenue that we expect in 2021 as a result of Corona. "
MVG boss Ingo Wortmann
added:" An agreement at the negotiating table is within reach.
You don't have to paralyze all of Munich for that. "
The
warning strike is expected by Monday evening at 20 o'clock
last.
Nevertheless, the MVG wants to try to serve at least a few lines.
Whether and which vehicles are running will be announced on Monday morning from 6 a.m. on the Internet at www.mvg.de.
Meanwhile, regional and S-Bahn trains are on schedule on Monday.
We asked around how commuters view the strike.
Klaus Vick, Sarah Brenner - * tz.de is part of the Ippen network.
This is what the Munich commuters say about the strike: "Understandable"
“I can understand the strike well, after all, the local transport employees are fighting for better working conditions.
Corona has made a lot more stressful and the overall situation has changed, but such important issues should not be neglected. ”- Monica Brandt (77), retired from Munich
This is what the Munich commuters say about the strike: "Stress in the morning"
“I take the subway to work regularly.
Unfortunately, I don't have any great alternatives and therefore have to rely on moving trains.
So I have no choice but to either cancel Monday at work or cycle part of the route.
That is especially stressful when you have important appointments. ”- Royce Braun (61), clerk from Munich
This is what Munich commuters say about the strike: "Does that have to be now?"
“I don't think the strike is that good because it hits a lot of commuters and is associated with long waiting times.
In addition, a strike during Corona brings many difficulties with it.
For example, how should you keep a distance of 1.5 meters on a crowded platform? ”- Medina Mujkec (44), geriatric nurse from Fürstenfeldbruck
This is what Munich commuters say about the strike: "Good reasons"
“Of course, a strike can be annoying.
Especially when you urgently need to get from A to B.
But there are really good reasons for this.
In particular, the poor pay and bad working hours are easy to understand.
It is important that people work for better working conditions and get involved together. ”- Raphael Ruffing (28), car mechanic from Holzkirchen
