Ten off-duty police officers ate dinner in Yuen Long in April this year for violating the gathering restriction order. During this period, the 40-year-old male sergeant was teased by the female police toasting because he did not want to drink. The two sides had a dispute and the male sergeant chased out of the shop. Pulling the policewoman's hair, was charged with ordinary assault.
The case was originally scheduled to open in Tuen Mun Magistracy today (27th), but the male police chief pleaded guilty before the trial started.
The defense pleaded that the defendant wanted to lift the other party and did not deliberately pull his hair, and the prosecution explicitly refused to accept this.
Magistrate Shui Jiali adjourned the sentence to the 10th of next month, pending a background report and social service order report, during which the defendant continued to be released on bail.
The defendant, Leung Jue-wing (40), admitted to assaulting a woman, Su Lingya, on the pedestrian road outside the Yuen Long Ping Hui Centre on April 19. She has reportedly been suspended.
The case stated that the victim toasted to the defendant that night, but the defendant refused and was teased by the other party.
During the dispute between the two parties, the colleagues on the scene separated the two, but later the defendant chased off the pavement and pulled the victim's hair.
