Firefighting teams in Homs managed to extinguish the fire that broke out in agricultural lands in the town of Nazareth in the western countryside of Homs.
Brigadier General Ghayath Aqil, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the civil defense personnel, in cooperation with the Homs Fire Brigade and Syrian Arab Army men, were able to completely extinguish the fire that broke out near the town of Nazareth and it was controlled last night, but it came back and renewed with fire spots this morning as a result of the winds And drought, stressing that cooling and strict monitoring of the area are being implemented to prevent the renewal of the fire.
Aqil also indicated that the fire that broke out in agricultural lands in the town of Al-Jawaniyat in the western countryside of Homs has also been extinguished and affected fruitful and forestry trees.
Earlier today, firefighters in Homs put out two fires in the towns of Qalatiya and Khirbet al-Hamam in the western countryside of the governorate.
