There's one thing about freedom: it's auspicious - and damned terrifying.

Caro Lobig and Timo Lendzion manage to capture these two poles using Simone Hage as an example.

In their documentary “Wildherz” they accompany the young woman for two years.

Simone is 18 when she rides with her best friend, two wild horses and a dog from Bavaria to the Baltic Sea.

Thousands of people follow her on Instagram as she lives her dream.

But Simone is overwhelmed by the many possibilities that are open to her.

She tries in vain to find out what she wants from life.

Her search for meaning leads from scratching out a horseshoe in Denmark to visiting a shaman in Ibiza.

Simone represents a generation that is as free as hardly anyone before her.

With this freedom comes the lack of plan.

She often stumbles.

Nowhere does she really want to arrive, again and again she feels a “crazy longing for the world”.

Unfortunately, the film is told in a confused way at the beginning.

Simone is so volatile that it is often not easy to keep up.

And: If you don't have a weakness for spirituality, you are wrong in this film.

However, her “longing for the world” was seldom as easy to understand as it is now.

Where restrictions and worries determine our everyday life, “Wildherz” celebrates letting go.

And that is very good.
