The statue of the late former president Néstor Kirchner occupied the center of the scene of the official act led by the president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, at the Néstor Kirchner Cultural Center.
The sculpture - which was transferred from Quito - is the visible face of a negotiation between Venezuela and Argentina, a country that despite no longer being a member of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) became the new depository of all the assets of the handicapped Latin American bloc.
