Brittany's Regional Health Agency (ARS) announced on Wednesday October 28 that it had asked all directors of hospitals and clinics in the region to launch their “
white plan
” in the face of the deteriorating health situation.
The ARS explained in a
press
release that it had taken this decision "
in the face of the deterioration of the Covid epidemic indicators directly impacting the intensive care and medical services of health establishments
".

Motivated by "
an exceptional health situation
", this system makes it possible in particular "
to deprogram interventions (non-urgent and without loss of proven opportunity for patients), to reassign staff within establishments, or even to recall staff when reinforcements do not are not sufficient
”.

In anticipation, the ARS coordinated with all the health establishments a graduated action plan for the organization of patient care in stages, in order to ensure the regulation of care in each of the territories and guarantee the solidarity essential between the structures of all statutes
”, adds the ARS.

In the event of capacity saturation, the ARS will ask to establish collaborative operations between establishments, in order to respond to tensions at the intra-regional level
".

With these measures, the number of intensive care beds “
could be doubled compared to the initial capacity of 162 beds
”.

Today, 175 are open
" and "
exceptional authorizations have been granted to six private and public establishments in order to increase these capacities
", specifies the ARS.
Eight patients were transferred to Brest on Tuesday and Wednesday from Nîmes and Avignon.
The incidence rate in Brittany was 160.7 per 100,000 inhabitants on Monday.
Of the four departments, the most affected is Ille-et-Vilaine with an incidence rate of 234.8 per 100,000 inhabitants.
