A team of researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University in America announced that they are developing new methods that help detect the presence of the Corona virus by using fibers that change color when exposed to a pathogen.
"The aim of this project is to use a cleaning cloth that can change its color when the Corona virus is detected," said Dr. Christina Tang, assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Life Sciences, in a tweet on the university's website, explaining that the project has a visual property by rotating liquid crystals into fibers that change color. When exposed to different temperatures.
Made of soft, lightweight and flexible materials, these smart fabrics are used to create sensors or wearable clothing.
