Three prominent city councilors are on trial for trespassing.
One of them would like to win the Stuttgart OB election soon.
Stuttgart - There are only a few days left until the
mayor election
on November 8th
in the state capital Stuttgart (BW24 * reported) - and the timing could not be more delicate: The
mayor
candidate
Hannes Rockenbauch
now has to
answer
together with two other city councilors before the
Stuttgart district court
.
The accusation is
broken house friends
.
On November 8th,
Hannes Rockenbauch
will be competing against 30-year-old Marian Schreier in the mayor election in Stuttgart. * His colleague Pantisano recently suffered
a defeat
in the mayor
election
in
Constance
.
Hannes Rockenbauch
already competed in the last
mayor
election in Stuttgart
, but was defeated by incumbent
Fritz Kuhn (Greens)
, who shaped politics in Stuttgart * for seven years.
And even in the 2020 election, his chances of becoming the new
mayor of
the state capital are
not good
.
Especially not when he's on trial.
OB election in Stuttgart: candidate Hannes Rockenbauch is on trial for trespassing
As a court
spokeswoman announced
,
Hannes Rockenbauch
and his parliamentary colleagues
Luigi Pantisano
and
Thomas Adler
are said to have
broken
into an
empty Stuttgart apartment
on May 2, 2018
.
The three are said
to have given
an
interview
there, which was
filmed
.
At that time,
other
squatters also
quartered in that and another apartment in the apartment building.
Before the start of the
process
on October 30,
OB candidate Rockenbauch
, Pantisano and Adler
want to
hold
a
30-minute rally
.
The three city councils defended their approach.
The massive lack of affordable apartments * is a problem in Stuttgart.
Solutions for the housing crisis are therefore an important part of the election program that Rockenbauch presented before the
mayor election in Stuttgart
.
Shortly before the mayor election in Stuttgart: Hannes Rockenbauch defends himself
"Anyone who leaves apartments empty in such a situation is acting against the common good," said Adler, housing policy spokesman and parliamentary group leader of the
Left SÖS Pirates and Animal Welfare group
.
The
squatting
was a
reaction
to the "inaction of the city leaders and the majority in the local council," said Rockenbauch.
Revive vacancies!

According to Pantisano, "those who draw attention to the scandal of thousands of vacant apartments" should not be charged, but rather "those who leave apartments empty and dilapidated".
A
penalty order was issued
against the three politicians,
but they
appealed
against them
.
The matter is now before the
Stuttgart district court
.
