Syria will participate in the International Olympiad for Mathematical Engineering "IGO", organized by Iran "remotely" next Friday, with the participation of students from 60 countries.
The Olympiad tests are conducted for the participants via the Internet and at the same time over a period of four and a half hours and include high-level issues in both flat and spatial geometries, according to a statement by the Excellence and Creativity Authority, which SANA received today.
According to the authority, 182 male and female students from the current and old Syrian Scientific Olympiad national team and students of the National Center for Excellence are represented in the Olympiad, according to the authority. They are divided into five centers in “Damascus, Latakia, Aleppo, Tartous and Homs.”
The participants are also divided into three age groups, namely, the intermediate level for “ninth and first-grade secondary students”, advanced level “for secondary and third secondary school students” and the free level for undergraduate students.
It is noteworthy that this Olympiad was launched in 2014 and is held annually and is considered one of the most important scientific competitions specialized in mathematics at the global level.
