The State Attorney's Office announced tonight (Wednesday) the closing of two cases in which civilians were suspected of threatening and harassing Attorney General Dr. Avichai Mandelblit. In the first case, a neighbor shouted at his wife and threatened the security guard. Shabbat in the synagogue and recited: "Parashat Mishpatim Shame."
In any case, tonight the prosecutor's office emphasized that "the ombudsman does not interfere in the police or prosecution's decisions on matters that concern him personally, and any attempt to present things differently - there is no truth in this." It is said that the cases occurred in the period shortly after the indictment was filed against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The first case in which the attorney general was suspected of harassment included shouts from one of the neighbors towards the attorney general's wife, after which he even refused to identify himself to the security guard and also threatened him: "I will give you one in the head, The neighbor after warning him.The neighbor was summoned for police questioning that Saturday night, among other things on suspicion of threats.
As stated, in another case, a woman who passed Dr. Mandelblit on his way to the synagogue on Saturday was detained for questioning and protested. He was not called to testify. "In any case, he was not involved in them in any way," it was written.
The closure of the cases comes after the tense relations in the State Attorney's Office were revealed in Mandelblit's recording on News 12. As mentioned, in the recording, the ombudsman was heard referring to State Attorney Shai Nitzan in a conversation with then-Bar Association chairman Efi Naveh.
Against the background of the Harpaz affair, Mandelblit said: "Do you understand that this maniac does not decide in my case? And he does it to me on purpose."
The spokesman further noted that the senior attorney "holds him by the throat."
